Our Story

Built on Steel. Grown on Discipline.

Scrap Zones was established in 2004 with a single, deliberate focus: trading HMS 1&2 heavy melting steel. We did not start by trying to sell everything. We started by mastering one commodity — understanding furnace requirements, impurity tolerances, loading logistics, and what global mills actually pay for.

That single-commodity discipline became our foundation. When buyers began asking us to apply the same rigor to copper, aluminum, and stainless steel, we expanded — one grade at a time, only when we could guarantee the same quality control we had built in steel.

Over two decades, that philosophy grew Scrap Zones from a specialized steel desk into a full-spectrum export partner covering 16 specialized commodity lines across metals, polymers, paper, and electronic scrap — while never losing the specialist mindset that built the company.

A Message from Our Founder

Somsak Bunnag founded Scrap Zones in 2004 with a single conviction: Thai scrap could compete on the world stage — not on price alone, but on purity, precision, and trust. What began as a one-commodity HMS 1&2 desk in Rayong has grown under his leadership into a certified export partner serving mills, smelters, and processors across the globe.

"Every container we ship carries our name. That is why we never trade anything we cannot verify, grade, and stand behind — completely."

— Somsak Bunnag, Founder

More than two decades later, that founding principle still governs every decision at Scrap Zones — from the grades we accept, to the inspections we welcome, to the buyers we serve. Specialization, verification, and long-term trust are not marketing words here. They are how we operate.

Why Our Steel Roots Matter

Starting with HMS 1&2 taught us lessons that still govern every shipment we handle today.

01

Grade Discipline

Steel taught us that a fraction of impurity changes everything. Today, every commodity — from copper millberry to PET flakes — is sorted and verified with that same furnace-level precision.

02

Buyer-First Verification

Mills don't buy promises — they buy verified material. We built our reputation on inspections, transparent loading, and documentation that holds up at destination customs.

03

Long-Term Relationships

Two decades in this industry means we play the long game. Our growth has come from repeat buyers, not one-off trades — and that is how we intend to keep growing.
